Within three minutes after the car slammed into the home in the 6700 block of York Road in Heidelberg Township at 2:21 a.m., emergency crews were on the scene, according to the Porter Fire Company.

Arriving crews found the car on its side and there was extensive damage to the house.

The people in the home freed themselves but the driver needed help extracting himself from the vehicle, the fire officials explained.

He refused medical care and was arrested by the Northern York County Regional Police Department which continues to investigate this crash.

Two family members were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said. Several hours later, a third family member went to the hospital in a private vehicle and was admitted for observation.

The Porter Fire Company concluded with the following statement:

"Two of the residents of the house are active members of Porters Fire Company, with the entire family supporting them being some of our top, most active, responders. We ask that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers."
